The C.R.I.S. Program was conceived by The Brothers Of Saint Dismas Chapter 1 in 2006.

In 2007 the 1st step of the Program was placed into action. The Program offers released prisoners in Texas a relief package that was designed to assist their basic needs upon release from prison. The package contains hygiene needs, under garments, 2 or more sets of cloths, a new pair of shoes, and donated food and needs gift cards, along with a list of organizations to assist them, all in a large duffel bag.  These duffel's cost approximately $300.00 each and can only be continued with you love and support.

In 2018  the 2nd step of the program went into action. We have set up a Catholic Transformational House (The Kolbe House) in Houston that will aid in their basic needs, Housing, Transportation, Counseling, Job opportunities all in a Positive Christian environment.

The 2nd step of The C.R.I.S. Program is designed with one basic Theme. The Positive Christian Reintegration into Society for released Catholic (Christian) Prisoners.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit Organization
. We are at the point financially that we are depending on Prayers, Donations and Funding from you. Please assist us in building this Project into a program that will truly help others and help society.
Outside The Box
If we exam the present-day assistance for released prisoners, veterans or anyone that has not been in our free society for a period of time. We find most support programs fall drastically short of the public's beliefs of what they provide. As a society we pay hundreds of millions each year in taxes for programs that have little or no positive effect on the clients or society. So, let’s think outside the box for a change.
First, all any person really wants is self-respect, and without this, respect for others is next to impossible. So, it only makes sense if a person can find self-respect, they can then begin to respect the lives of others.
That’s what C.R.I.S.P. is about. A good Christian self-respect offered to them who are willing to put the effort and time to gain it. No free rides, no suffocating rules, but pure Christian role models and peer pressure that’s founded on good Christian life. Christian consolers, employers, and opportunities helping them help themselves.
So instead of saying you must get a job, any minimum wage job that doesn’t pay enough to live on without other Government assistance programs, of which we also support with hundreds of millions each year through our Taxes. We at C.R.I.S.P. are dedicated to assist them in finding employment with a fair and decent wage.
Where is the self-respect in working 60 to 70 hours a week and not being able to live in decent housing, afford dependable transportation, or go out to dinner and a movie without suffering in other areas. Yes, some people accept this life and move forward with respect for themselves and others. However most of us could not. It’s easy to brush this off and say I could or would do it, so they can. Now we just left reality with this thinking and find ourselves  unintelligently and un-Christianly judging the minds, education and past of everyone that finds themselves in this part of our society.
Then the housing one is forced to take because it’s all they can afford. bad neighborhoods, unsavory elements all around you. It’s the part of our society that breeds most of our violent criminals and drug use. This leaves men and women without a future of anything better. Let’s not forget, day to day survival in this life style is the most important thing and self respect is normally not possible. how are they to crawl out of this life and be proud positive Christian members of society. Yes, some do. but most never do.
Are we saying to spend Billions of tax dollars to give them a better life.NO! let’s get out of the box and let them earn a better societal life for themselves. Give them opportunities to advance if they are willing to work for it.
I am sorry to say that not all released prisoners will be accepted. in fact, this program can only take a few at a time. Each one will have to prove they want to be a positive Christian member of society by improving themselves inside before release.
The belief that they get religion inside and lose it walking out the door is many times the case, But not all do. I will address this issue in detail in a future article.
Our goal is to be a self-sufficient in less than one year. Each released prisoner should be self-sufficient within a few months and be ready for a positive Christian reintegration into society in 6 to 12 months. The alternatives are to throw them on the streets upon release and wait, over 40 percent will reenter the system. Then we pay again with our Tax dollars from Three thousand to Three hundred thousand dollars to convict them and then Twenty to One hundred thousand a year to keep them locked up. And this don’t include the cost the victims of their crimes incur.
For each person that becomes a Positive member of society and does not reenter the system will potentially save Tax payers hundreds of thousands of Tax dollars each year and pay tax’s themselves.
